AdClub’s mission statement says the organization “enhances its members’ classroom education by merging a social atmosphere with industry presentations and activities designed to guide the transition from the University to careers in the advertising industry.”
AdClub is a part of the American Advertising Federation, and it features meetings with advertising industry professionals where students learn, network and interact with both professionals and students alike.

UGA’s Drewry Chapter of PRSSA is the largest PRSSA chapter in the world. PRSSA’s mission statement says their goal is “to prepare students for life after graduation through skills acquisition, peer networking and professional development.”
This organization features bi-weekly meetings with industry professionals where students learn about careers in the communications field. In addition to meetings, the club hosts workshops on career development and career fair preparation including: resume advice, interviewing tips, and professional attire advice.

Infusion Magazine’s mission statement says their goal is to “provide a journalistic medium where minority students can speak their minds, voice their opinions, and exhibit their creativity.”
This magazine encourages students to have open discussions on social issues and current news while upholding journalistic standards in writing. As a member of the organization, you will contribute to one publication per semester, attend two release parties, and interact with other students through social events. You can join the team as a writer, editor, photographer, designer, or business/marketing team.

If you’re looking to combine your love for music with an organization that can build your technical skills, WUOG 90.5 is the place for you. This is an alternative college radio station that’s “designed to help new and independent artists gain exposure on campus, in Athens, and throughout the nation.”
There are nine staff positions available including: Music, Local Music, Digital Media, Operations, Archives, News, Sports, Publications, and Events. You can also apply to be a DJ where you host your own show during the week.
