Underground Books
Underground Books is unique because as the name suggests, it operates below street level. When you enter the shop, you will be greeted with an archway made of books and shelves upon shelves of more. It opened in 2011 and sells both new and old books, but puts an emphasis on their used/rare/antiquarian book collection that can be found in-store and online. Additionally, they sell book-related merchandise such as t-shirts, tote bags, and candles. To support them in their mission of making Georgia a more literate and free-thinking place and provide for book lovers, visit their Carrollton location or their sister store, Hills & Hamlets, in Atlanta.

Review of Underground Books
The cutest little book nook! Truly a hidden gem in beautiful downtown Carrollton! So many genres to choose from. There really is something for everyone, even includes a massive children’s section and young adult section. The books from here are great quality and decently priced. Definitely would recommend checking this place out and then maybe grabbing a bite to eat on the square while you enjoy your new read. -Alisa H.
Quest Comic Shop
Quest Comic Shop has a large variety of what is normally relegated to a small section of other bookstores. They are a locally owned and family run store that sells comics, graphic novels, manga, art books, and tabletop games. They have a monthly roster of events where groups of people can register to play these games together. While they have a large collection of merchandise, if you want something that they do not have, they will order it in for you. Whether you are a new to comic books or a long time collector, Quest Comic Shop is the place to be!

Review of Quest Comic Shop
Great store with wide selection of comics, board games, and even Friday night Magic and a DnD recurring game. I can’t wait for a new game slot to open up. These folks are fantastic and knowledgeable. Every time I go there I have to make myself leave because there is no game store like this at all in the entire West Georgia area. -R. P.
Horton’s Books & Gifts
Horton’s Books & Gifts was founded in 1891, granting it the title of Georgia’s oldest bookstore. A unique fact about the place is that its founder was an undertaker and originally sold coffins in addition to books. Nowadays they sell new and used books, plus small gift items such as stationery. In addition to supporting the store by visiting in person, Horton’s is partnered with Libro.fm. It is an online program which allows people to buy audiobooks through their local bookstores, which receive part of the proceeds. Come in to browse the shelves and meet their three store cats today!
