After being named the 2022 College Hockey South (CHS) Champions, UGA Hockey has made a big name for itself in Athens.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the official 2022-23 schedule, which the team released on social media on May 16.

Last season, the team went 26-5-1 in the College Hockey Federation (CHF) league and 22-3-1 in the CHS league.
The UGA Ice Dawgs will be facing tough opponents they lost to last season, including Georgia Tech University, the University of Florida, the University of South Carolina and the University of Alabama D2.
On Sept. 15, UGA Hockey will host its first ever UGA Hockey Red & White Game where the team will split up to scrimmage for fans, similar to G-Day for Georgia Football.
The team will first take on the University of Tennessee Ice Vols in its first official season game on the following day.
Last season, these teams played three times, resulting in the Ice Dawgs coming out victorious each game.
UGA Hockey will then host a team they have never played before, Middle Tennessee State University, with back-to-back games on Sept. 17 and 18.
At the end of the month, the team will be traveling to a state that is uncharted territory for UGA Hockey – New York.
This is exciting news for UGA Hockey since the team has never traveled this far for a regular season game.
This trip is adding three teams to the list of opponents UGA Ice Dawgs has never played before.
First, UGA Hockey will play Buffalo State University on Sept. 30. The team will then take on St. Bonaventure University and Niagara University on Oct. 1 and 2.
There won’t be much time for the team to rest after returning from New York since UGA Hockey’s annual Pink in the Rink games will be on October 6 and 7 against Auburn.
The Pink in the Rink games are in partnership with Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer, with the team raising $10,177 for the nonprofit in its 2021-22 season.
After the team’s following three games in October, the UGA Ice Dawgs will travel to play in the Macon Veteran’s Cup Tournament on Nov. 11 and 12.
The team will have three more home games before the conclusion of the fall semester, hosting Kennesaw State University, Clemson University and Coastal Carolina University.
At the beginning of the spring semester, the UGA Ice Dawgs will travel back to Savannah for the Savannah Hockey Classic, taking on the Flordia Gators and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Jan. 13 and 14.
After the intense showdown between Flordia Atlantic University (FAU) and UGA Hockey at the 2022 CHS Tournament, it is exciting for fans to see that there are two games scheduled against FAU on Feb. 10 and 11.
Finally, the regular season will conclude with the 2023 CHS Tournament that will take place in Huntsville, Ala. on Feb. 25, 26 and 27.
As the season plays out, the rankings will then determine what teams UGA Hockey will play in the CHS Tournament.
