UGA Creamery

An Athens favorite for students, faculty and local residents since 1908!
According to the UGA Alumni website, the original purpose of the UGA Creamery was to teach dairy science students about production.
They later decided to not let this ice cream go to waste and started serving it to customers for ten cents!
In 1941, the creamery moved to Conner Hall and became the only full dairy production plant in Georgia at that time.
Since then, the creamery has moved a couple of times but finally landed in the location it is at now, the Environmental Health Science Building.
Though the dairy production plant is no longer running, the creamery serves Edy’s soft serve and Mayfield ice cream.

Condor Chocolates

According to the Condor Chocolates website, the business was founded by two brothers that grew up in Athens. Their parents met in Ecuador, the home of the finest cacao in the world.
This is what led them to open Condor Chocolates in honor of their parents and Ecuador!
The store offers chocolate bars, truffles, sipping chocolate, hot cocoa, coffee, iced beverages, gelato and more! What more could you ask for?
Believe it or not, the variety of chocolate snacks is not the only selling point of visiting Condor Chocolates.
Located in the historic Five Points neighborhood of Athens, anyone can pick up a sweet treat and explore the surrounding area!
