Went to NYC for anniversary trip, this park is in the heart of Chinatown and is absolutely beautiful. There were many people gathered in the park. They have stone tables for games ( not sure what game it was as I did not recognize the board). This park is within walking distance to Canal Street shopping and the best part was there was a public restroom that was rather clean.Restrooms: I was surprised and grateful at how clean these bathrooms were because they were in the heart of NYC..

Happened to walk passed it on my way out of Chinatown in June 2022.On the map, no one would be able to tell that a place called Columbus Park would actually be a gathering place for mainly Chinese people and a place to commemorate the work of Sun Yat Sen who fought for China to become a Republic. It was a nice place with a lot of activities. Full of mainly elderly Chinese playing board games and, of course, gambling with no cash visibly changing hands. There were a few Chinese gentlemen singing Chinese songs accompanied by someone on a Chinese flute.Just adjacent to the park was a basketball court where young people of several races were playing together.

Columbus Park is a great place to hang out and people watch. Nicely maintained park space in Chinatown that makes you feel like you could be in another country. When we came here in the early afternoon on a weekday, there were people playing Chinese instruments, socializing, and sitting around playing mahjong and other traditional games. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

It's a cute park, you get to see a lot of locals, mostly older men playing chess and similar board games on the benches and tables there. There's a cool basketball and soccer field. It would be a perfect 5 star if the local crazy crackhead didn't come screaming at us and threatening us. I wish they would do something about her. She ruined such a peaceful day with her nonsense screaming towards absolutely nothing. Oh well. Other than that, it was a pleasant park.

Historic NYC Chinatown's social hub. There are daily live performance of traditional Chinese Opera tunes but elder amateur musicians, table games and neighborhood chatter. A fine place to watch the Lunar New Year Parades and Festivities in addition to a resting place after visiting the large amount of restaurants, shops and offices in the area. People of all races converge in this place and there are trails, playing fields, basketball courts and playgrounds for anyone to enjoy year round. Restrooms are found near Bayard Street and near the playgrounds south of Bayard Street, between Baxter and Mulberry Streets.

A nice, quiet green space to sit and relax in Chinatown. Got in some good conversation and people watching, and no one else really bothered us at all. Could certainly sit here for a while and just take it all in.
