This is a gem of a park, large enough not to feel crowded but small enough to feel neighborly and intimate. Depending on the season, the greenery is lush, wonderfully complemented by the hardscape. You can also view the East River on the esplanade just beside the park.Restrooms: Restrooms are located on the south end of the park.Dog-friendliness: The park has separate dog runs for large and small dogs.

Lovely park overlooking the East River. The park includes Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the mayor of New York City. Today's look of the park stems from the 1930s, when the park was redesigned under Robert Moses (1888-1981) in connection with the construction of FDR Drive. From the promenade there are fabulous views of the East River, Astoria, Roosevelt Island, and Triboro Bridge.

Safest park in all NYC since the mayor's heavily armed security is within a whisper of the place, so you'll never be treated like those mere mortals out in Brownsville. Nice greenery and installations, with pretty vistas to Roosevelt Island.

It is a good playground. There are few frames with different challenges. It is still good for my 6 years and 3 years old loves it. We came during spring so the sprinklers were off. It is lovely during summer too. There are few bathrooms and a lot of place to seat. It is nice to be by the river.

I feel truly lucky to live near this very special place. The view of the city, the smell of the water + the well maintained yet wild gardens, are completely intoxicating. There's a sense of community here too. A great place to read a book, walk a dog, play a game.

I can not get enough of New York parks!! Plenty of sitting areas to rest and every step you take there's something else to look at... I well have to come back again with a full battery for more photos. The park was well kept. You can tell the people here care for this spot.
