The High Line is an interesting urban walking trail, there are many different things to see and explore. I liked that there were rest stops with plenty of seating along the way. Each section was unique and a surprise, one section had vendors and a small street market. The various art along the way was a nice surprise. It was a nice way to escape the busyness of the city.

The High Line in New York City offers a unique and immersive urban experience that stands out even in a city known for its incredible parks and public spaces. This elevated linear park, built on a historic freight rail line, has been transformed into an urban oasis that weaves through the bustling streets of Manhattan's West Side. From the moment you ascend the staircases to the High Line, you're greeted by a fusion of nature, art, and design. The park's layout harmoniously integrates the industrial elements of the original railway with lush plantings, contemporary art installations, and panoramic views of the city and the Hudson River. As you stroll along the High Line, there's a palpable sense of calm that contrasts with the energetic pulse of the city below. The landscaping is thoughtfully curated, with a mix of wildflowers, grasses, and trees that change with the seasons, providing a haven for birds and insects and a splash of color against the urban backdrop. The park is also a cultural hub, offering a variety of public programs and art installations that provoke thought and conversation. The integration of art with nature invites visitors to reflect on the relationship between urban spaces and the environment.Seating areas and viewing platforms are strategically placed to take advantage of the vistas, making it a perfect spot to relax and people-watch. The High Line also features food vendors offering a selection of treats and refreshments, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience.Accessibility is a key feature of the High Line, with multiple entry points and elevator access ensuring that everyone can enjoy what the park has to offer. It's not just a walk in the park; it's an embodiment of New York City's spirit of innovation and its commitment to urban renewal and public space. In essence, the High Line is more than just a park; it's a testament to the power of community vision and the potential for urban transformation. It's a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike, offering a unique perspective on the city and a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Beautiful walk surrounded by amazing buildings and variety of flowers and plants. Our walk came just after our visit to The edge due to the proximity. Enjoyable and towards they have few benches where you can sit and enjoy the view

Great place specially during summer to take a walk, hang out with friends and family. There is lots of free and spacious seating, different flora labelled throughout the whole park, some artistic installations, restrooms and water filling stations too. Love the accessibility. There is dedicated space right across little island with food stalls and art sellers. Can easily spend two hours. Starbucks roastery is walking distance too so maybe roam around before/after!

The Highline is a nice way to get across this part of the city. If you don't feel like dealing with traffic, cars, and crowds of people, walking along the highline is a nicer and better way to get through the area. It's a nice elevated park with many opportunities to see interesting architecture.

Walked the whole stretch. I did it during a weekend and, while it was packed most of the time, there were times I was almost completely alone. Overall it was quite an enjoyable experience. An interesting combination of nature and urban landscapes, in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world. The architecture of some of the buildings that surround it is also quite interesting. Recommended visit while in NYC

Amazing. True urban oasis. Great way to walk from Manhattan West down to Chelsea Market, the Whitney, Little Island, and Hudson River Park down to the WTC area. A must for anyone visiting Manhattan -- and just as beautiful in the evening with the City lights!

Nice little walk that gives you a break away from the city whilst still being in the city. There are some nice views and although you'll still find tourists doing this walk, it has significantly less tourists than other places.Add this to your list and give it a walk one day. There are multiple entry and exit points however it's a good idea to go from the Chelsea Markets and then go down to the shops in Hudson Yard, or the other way around. Can imagine this makes for a nice night walk and is amazing in Autumn or when snowing.Would I go again: YesDo I recommend: Yes

This park is like nothing else in NYC, you literally see the rails built into paved way or have them as part of the lawn. Being elevated few floors above street level makes views from the park quite unique. Distinct feature of the park is close proximity to surrounding modern buildings that are architecturally superior to average new construction in Manhattan.
