I have seen a few of these reviews and none of them talk about the nastiness of the guest services they have here. So rude and pompous for no reason.

I had accidentally went to the women’s store to pick up an order and they were so nice in directing me where to go. I went over to the men’s store and the employees that “helped” me were very disrespectful. I had seen a baccarat rouge parfum that I wanted to purchase that was across from the guest services desk and asked for a sample. The lady standing by guest services told me “Um you better hurry up before we close.” I get the rush but the time wasn’t even near closing. I ignored the passive aggression because it was 45 minutes before closing and it’s the holidays so I understand. I gave them my name. They didn’t believe I had placed an order and kept looking at me up and down. They didn’t even check my phone at first they kept telling me “we didn’t see your order before, maybe you’re in the wrong place.” I let it go because it was most likely a stressful few days for them, I work with customers and I know the strain it puts on retail workers. I shop at other luxury stores and I know I have to present my id when picking up an order and as I was taking it out one of the women go “Well I’ll need your id before I even go back there and check but I know it’s not here.” When she took my ID and went to the back she came back and gave me my order and that’s when they warmed up to me and started acting nice. I was so upset because they were giving me attitude and rolling their eyes and I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t even bother with the parfum anymore I was so put off. I work with customers so I’m extra positive and nice with anyone that works in retail because I know how stressful it gets but treating customers like this unprovoked was just wrong. The stores are wonderful and offer great variety but never again with Bergdorf Men’s.

We went to exchange a pair of shoes and had such a weird experience. The sales associate was chewing what I assume was his dinner while talking to us. He had an attitude and acted like we were imposing We asked for a different size and when he returned to the floor with no luck, we asked about shipping it to us. He just said no and shook his head even though we were there on Saturday and that was an option. Then we asked about a different style and he said they didn’t have that and asked us if we wanted him to check for it. At that point we just wanted to return the shoes because clearly he didn’t want to be there or helping us. Thankfully the client services manager was understanding, knowledgeable, and generous. But we went back to check on the refund because we had a question. We walked in, someone looked us up and down, and they walked away until someone else came over. That person was rude too. It shouldn’t matter what someone looks like, their skin color, their clothes. If we can afford to shop at your store, do you not want our business? We were customers and now we’re not because of the terrible, borderline racist service.

Great collection of brands, however they seem to be under staffed. I was discouraged to buy few items due to lack of personnel servicing the concessions. Furthermore the state of the toilets was horrendous…
