11/10 for sure! A total hidden gem in the Asian food hall! We walked past after having breakfast and we saw there was a huge queue. I went to the front and asked what are you selling that is so popular and I found out the lady behind the till was actually the owner! She was super friendly and let us try samples of their sauces. She was so warm that we said when we're hungry later we will come back! The food was honestly amazing and it was our first time trying Indonesian food. She even came and found us in the food hall to give us a sample of a traditional Indonesian drink. Amazing experience!

Jakarta Munch is a wonderful spot in the Southeast Asian street-food food court of Urban Hawker. I couldn't make up my mind what to order (I'm an omnivore who eats vegan regularly) so I asked for a suggestion from the person at the register. She offered advice and even let me sample two different sauces. I ended up getting a bowl with the spicy gulai (coconut curry) and chicken thighs over jasmine rice. The flavors were excellent, the vegetables and wonton chips were fresh. It was a hearty portion and I didn't walk away hungry. With tip it was less than $20.25. An excellent bargain in an expensive city. It's in a nice version of a food court, but a food court nonetheless, so I could give only 4 stars for atmosphere. (I presume this helps keep the food prices reasonable.) I will definitely be back to Jakarta Munch. Overall I give this place 5 stars. They are vegan friendly and have gluten free options.Vegetarian options: Tempe, tofu, and mushrooms.Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly, gluten free friendly.

Probably one of the few meals that I couldn't even eat. I was so excited to try their chicken coconut rice dish. When I got my order, my first impressions were BURNT, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt, thinking it would be really flavorful.NOPE, it was extremely SALTY to the point where it was not edible. And the exterior of the chicken was burnt while the insides were still on the pink side.I never throw out a whole meal like this, but this was just not edible.

Amazing food! There's a lot of flavors dancing around with each bite. I went with the coconut rice with beef and opor sauce and all the toppings available. Was not disappointed. Everything mixes well. The little garlic crackers were a nice addition to the meal. Also the avocado smoothie which sounds odd at first hooks you after you taste it.Vegetarian options: Mushrooms, Tofu, tempehDietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free optionsKid-friendliness: Kids loved the foodWheelchair accessibility: There's an elevator for wheelchairs

Located inside Singapore urban hawkers (street food). You select the base, protein sauce and condiments. The base I suggest select coconut rice aka nasi uduk. It's very traditional Indonesian dish, the gulai (curry) is very tasty however it's not hot enough for my taste (sorry I have very hot tongue :)) another one you want to try is sweet semur (beef stew) or ayam panggang kecap (sweet soya sauce open fire grilled chicken). Don't forget to try avocado juice )with sweet chocolate condensed milk) Overall it's good experienceVegetarian options: Nope it's street food :)Dietary restrictions: Good luck.Parking: It's new York take a subwayKid-friendliness: Yes urban hawkers is very kind friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Yes

Checking out this place last Sunday! I ordered Spicy Gulai and it's really spicy. Knowing the fact, it's located near Times Square, the food price is decent and the food portion is fair. It's hard to find Indonesian food in Manhattan so this place is a rare gem.Bonus: you can get a traditional Indonesian herbal tonic (DJAMU) in here as well.
