December 2021 by laura rushing$2 food that is more expensive now, but still tastes like $2 food. I was drawn to this place for the $2 price tag, but the menu pricing is higher now by $1-3 depending on the item. I get it, inflation comes to us all. It's something im finding is an increasing issue with restaurants on Google; everything has menu pictures from a year ago. Also, there doesn't appear to be a bathroom... There's a door that locke from the outside, and that's it. Definitely more of a grab and go place, even though there is seating for 6-7. I was hoping for at least good coffee, but alas. The coffee tasted burned and acrid. $2-3 is pretty standard for plain black coffee, and it's my go to order in NYC, but this was truly bad coffee. The croissant was heated on a griddle (how long was it at room temp before that??) and the American cheese was still unmelted and cold in spots, while the croissant was flattened to an inch thick and burned. Burned but cold lol. My order was about $7.50 for a 16-oz coffee and egg and cheese croissant.
