I’ve always believed there was a direct correlation between brand awareness and rankings in search. This seems to be more true latest based on the recent algorithm updates from Google, and their quest to rid the search results of garbage websites and content.
If that’s true – if brand authority directly impacts your rankings and presence in search – then it seems to make sense to me that citation distribution is a workflow that in fact builds brand awareness. And as a result of increased brand awareness, your business ends up ranking higher in both local and organic search results.
