- December 2021 by Carrie HoffmanI believe Dr. McAlister is a good surgeon. However his decisions and communication style were very disappointing throughout my loved one's broken ankle ordeal. We were given no phone number or help throughout the weekend after my partner's surgery and he was in horrible pain and we had no number to call to ask for help. He chose to reconstruct my partner's ankle in a certain way and then left it to "heal" without checking on the process by x-ray for 8 whole weeks. The way he delivers news shows little understanding or compassion for the pain and trauma his patients and their caregivers are going through. After 8 weeks of supposed healing, my partner went to get his cast off, and Dr. McAlister walked into the room after x-raying it and delivered the worst news of our lives by saying "Dude, it's not healing." I actually thought he was joking because he said it in such a callous, casual way. He redid the surgery and we lost an additional 10 weeks of our lives, plus more time given the extra muscle loss from going through 2 consecutive surgeries and recoveries. Before the second surgery, I had to call Dr. McAlister's assistant twice in order to get him to stop brushing us off and actually answer a couple of our questions before the surgery. When my partner finally got his cast off, Dr. McAlister said "Don't walk more than a mile!" and left the room and my partner was nowhere close to capable of even taking a step. His communication caused inaccurate expectations once again. Thank goodness we found an awesome PT who actually cares about the healing process. Oh yeah, the PT tried to call Dr. McAlister to consult with him multiple times and was never responded to.

All staff are courteous and prompt in follow-up. Surgical scar is barely visible, and I was always informed of what to expect during the process. Insurance accounting was accurate. Highly skilled and personable doctor - I am so happy that I chose this practice!

Everything from getting the x-rays and patient check-in to wait times went very smoothly and seamless. Dr. McAlister met with me to discuss my x-rays and need for treatment. He was very thorough in explaining treatment and he spent plenty of time listening to and answering my questions. I did not feel rushed in any way. One of best parts of the visit is that it was recorded on video through a service called medical memory and emailed to me so that I could go back and review what we discussed and remember important timelines and details regarding my potential surgery and share it with my husband as well. I was very impressed by this service. Overall, my first experience with Dr. McAlister was a positive one and I have already recommended him to a friend with similar concerns.
- December 2021 by Harry HillIt's been almost a month since Dr. McAlister installed my new left ankle. The stitches came out 3 days ago and I've started on PT. Thus far I am pleased with the results. Dr McAlister is very professional, confident and listens to my concerns and questions attentively. He even showed me a video of the surgery procedure. I have always felt like I'm in good hands and would not hesitate to refer potential patients to him. His staff members are all friendly and willing to help.
